Making Your First Visit?
We know visiting a new church can be daunting. We’ve put together a list of common questions to make your first visit easier. If you still have questions, just contact us here.
How Do I Get There?
Gap Creek is located in the small community of Arthur just off of Highway 63. You can find directions and detailed information about our service times here.
What Can I Expect?
When you walk into Gap Creek, expect to be welcomed by one of our church members as they get to know you. Our greeters will gladly help you find a seat during worship or help you find a class during group times as well as answer any questions you may have.
During worship service, you’ll find our music is a mixture of traditional and contemporary. Everyone is free to worship from their hearts – some sing loudly, some raise their hands, and some stand silent, reflecting on the words of the song. Every service, you’ll hear Biblical teaching that is straightforward and valuable for everyday life.
What Should I Wear?
At any service at Gap Creek, you’ll see some dressed up (like business casual) and some dressed casually (jeans and flip flops). We just want you to come and be a part of worship!
Where Do My Kids Go?
During Sunday School and Discipleship Training, we have nursery and classes for every stage of life, including classes based on your child’s grade in school. Our greeters will be happy to introduce you to our teachers and show you their classrooms. During worship, we also have Children’s Church located directly across from the sanctuary for grades 1 – 6. Children dismiss right after praise and worship during the 11:00 am service. Preschool/Kindergarten Children’s Church meets down the hall where they can sing, laugh, and play all while learning Biblical truths. We know a new church can be scary for young ones and your children are more than welcome to stay with you and worship, but we think they might enjoy the special activities planned just for their age group as well!
Do I Have to Give a Donation?
During each Sunday service, we give an opportunity for members to worship God through giving a tithe or offering. We believe that this is an important part of worship for Gap Creek, but we hope our guests do not feel any pressure to give. This time in the service allows members to give thanks for God’s blessings and allows Gap Creek to continue sharing Christ in our community.
